|Fish resources in all oceans are vanishing. Finding fish is getting harder. Trawl nets are destroying seabeds.
Fish follow a simple set of swarmrules. This rules can be used to influence fish movement.
This video shows how fish are influenced by a simple plastic dummy https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=InqVuoevzyM#t=1147s.|
Robotic fishes will be sent out to join swarms. Once they reach them, they report all kind of data like size and position of the swarm to a central station. Here all swarms are monitored. The goal is to harvest swarms only if the growth of the population reaches its steepest rate. Once the population seems ready to be harvested, a controlled swarm is selected and marked for harvesting. The controlling robot fish receives the command to navigate the swarm to a collection station, where the swarm gets processed. No more boats, no more damage, efficient use of resources. Illegal fishing could be spotted.
Impossible to build Robot Fish? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFlMSzDSPwI , although it might be easier to use a real fish as
platform and control its muscle movement.
I know this idea is not trivial and pretty crazy
